In 2026, Mazda debuts the Mazda CX-50's Meridian Edition. This trim level has the same naturally aspirated four-cylinder system that is offered as the model’s base engine. This is a 2.5-liter, 187-horsepower engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The Mazda CX-50 is also available with a hybrid turbo 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine and three electric motors. The hybrid system puts out 227 horsepower. With high-octane fuel, this shoots up to 256 horsepower. A continuously variable automatic transmission is included. Every Mazda CX-50 is equipped with all-wheel drive.

Appearance

While the Mazda CX-50 is a compact crossover SUV, it makes a bold impression with its rugged design tendencies. The model has a low, tapered profile with rigorous definition over the side panels. Thick, dark molding runs across the lower perimeter, including around the slightly squared-off wheel wells. At the front end, you will find an expansive grille with a contemporary mesh pattern featuring staggered linear elements. The chrome bar that winds across the lower portion of the grille reaches up to support the sporty LED headlights. Exterior features available include power-folding mirrors, towing equipment, self-leveling adaptive headlights, up to 18-inch wheels, roof rails, and all-terrain tires.

Features

Inside, some trim levels are now offered with white leather upholstery for the first time. Otherwise, the 2025 and 2026 versions of the Mazda CX-50 have the same features. Base features are an eight-speaker sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, lane departure mitigation, a 10.25-inch infotainment system screen, remote keyless entry, synthetic leather upholstery, a digital instrument panel, and more. Higher Mazda CX-50 trims add a Bose premium sound system with more speakers, leather upholstery, heated seats, driver’s memory functions, a power liftgate, a head-up display, a panoramic sunroof, and additional features.
