Performance
The 2026 Mazda CX-50 has both gas and hybrid powertrains. The two gas engines are the four-cylinder, 2.5-liter, 187-horsepower unit and the turbocharged variation of this engine. The turbo engine produces 227 horsepower on regular fuel and 256 horsepower on high-octane fuel. The plug-in hybrid system has a four-cylinder engine and three electric motors. Its output is 219 horsepower. All-wheel drive is standard for every Mazda CX-50.
The Mazda CX-90 is also available with gas and hybrid systems. These include a 280-horsepower, 3.3-liter turbo V6 system and a 319-horsepower turbo V6 option. The plug-in hybrid unit has a four-cylinder, 2.5-liter engine, yielding 323 horsepower. All-wheel drive comes standard for all powertrains.
Appearance
The 2026 Mazda CX-50 is styled with a boxier front-end design than other Mazda models today, and elegant, subtle curves balance this design. The side panels are remarkably smooth with squared off haunches and wheel wheels. Thick molding lines the lower perimeter of the vehicle from bumper to bumper. The nose is designed with a wide, U-bottomed grille. The small, piercing LED headlights are integrated into the top of the grille.
The Mazda CX-90 is a larger model with a tall hood and steeply raked roof for a sporty touch. The fenders and sides are styled with curved definition. A thick chrome element underlines the large grille, and chrome also underscores the bumper. Diamond-shaped headlights sit atop tall, deep-set air inlets.

The Mazda CX-50 is loaded with quality features across all trim levels. Some of the available features are a Bose audio system, a 10.25-inch infotainment system screen, heated seats, a surround-view monitor, a keyless ignition, wireless smartphone app connections, driver's memory settings, remote keyless entry, a panoramic sunroof, a power liftgate, reverse auto braking with parking sensors, forward collision mitigation, and others.
